Rare Vintage Acrylic Television Screen Magnifier from the1940's H5

Rare Vintage 1950s Plastic Oil-Filled Television Screen Magnifier, with Stand; just like today, people back in the 1950s believed larger was better when it came to their television screen. But then there were few options so many turned to screen magnifiers such as the clear oil-filled one we have here. As you can imagine these are extremely rare, even more so than the solid lucite ones without stands you might run across, and this one is in excellent vintage condition. measuring 11" high x 12-3/4" wide x 6" deep (including the stand) with the magnifier portion a full 10" across x 8" high. Imprinted by the manufacturer, PPP Precision Plastic Products, Inc., Chicago 7, ILL., on both the clear plastic magnifier and black plastic stand, the clear plastic does have a few scratches as you'd expect and I cannot determine the oil level (see plastic plug at top in detail photograph), but all other details are intact including the metal and plastic stand and slides on the side allowing you to raise or lower it's height to match your TV screen. Whether you collect vintage television memorabilia or would just love a very unusual item as a conversation piece for your decor, this television magnifier from the pioneering TV days is the ticket!
