RARE 1984 Sony FD-20AEB Voyager Watchman Worldwide Coat Pocket Television TV

You are bidding on a rare FD-20AEB "Voyager" Sony Watchman pocket TV designed for worldwide use.
Sony made many different models of Watchman TV's starting in the early 1980's.  All of these featured a unique right angle picture tube specially designed by Sony engineers (see last photo for an example).  This clever innovation allowed Sony to make the smallest, lightest TV's anyone had ever made.
Most Sony Watchman TV's were built for specific countries to match their television broadcast standards, but Sony sold a few models for universal worldwide use.  Because the NTSC, PAL, and UK video standards differ from each other this required extra circuitry.  So these models were more expensive and many fewer were sold.
This auction is for one of these universal Watchmen:  A Sony FD-20AEB "Voyager" which can work on any analog TV system in the world (see photo 3).  It comes with the original soft case incorporating a hood, the correct AA battery holder, and the manual.  The TV itself has a few scuffs on the corners, but the antenna is kink-free and the battery compartment has no corrosion inside.  The soft case is in excellent condition, completely free of the oily, gooey residue that often affects these cases.
I tested this TV again before listing it.  As you can see from the first photo it is working, producing video "snow" and the characteristic inter-station audio white noise.  This is an analog TV, however, so it cannot receive digital broadcasts directly and there are no more analog TV stations broadcasting in my area.  To use this TV in a country with no analog broadcasting (like the US) you could attach an analog RF video source such as a digital TV converter or a videotape/videodisc player with an analog RF output.
This TV is a duplicate from my personal collection of vintage Sony and Panasonic portable TV's.  I doubt you will find many of these on eBay.
