    Cubist Style Bull 8" Metal Sculpture by SAEGUSA SOTARO Cast Metal ~ Orion Asian Art

    Metal is a silver color and has a texture of galvanized steel. it is SIGNED on the bull's back right leg.
    There are some tiny pinhole size marks on the metal in a few places, and you can see where there used to be a round sticker on the bull's rump. We tried to capture this in photos. Please examine pictures and forward any questions you may have.
    A graduate of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts Sculpture, Saegusa Sotaro has won many prestigious awards and is considered one of the best metal artists in Japan.
    Among other things, she has created series of miniature cast-iron animals remarkable for their stylization which recalls both art deco and contemporary art.
    She died in 2006.
